In 1997, UGM purchases the Goodyear building in downtown St. Paul to expand services to women and children.
UGM transforms the Goodyear tire store into a state-of-the-art child development center and adult education facility.
This innovative facility allows moms to pursue their education, knowing their children are learning and growing too.

With the successes of LifeNet and WorkNet, the Mission’s education programs come together in a home of their own. In the former Goodyear tire store in downtown St. Paul, Union Gospel Mission builds a state-of-the-art child development center and women’s education facility. Downstairs, children flourish in a space that focuses on their spiritual and developmental growth while moms are upstairs studying. Outfitted with new furniture and equipment, the center sends a message to participants that their success is well worth the investment.
